About the project: A “Whodunnit” mystery begins when the tuition money Janet saved is stolen. Janet’s supportive roommate Grace begins to suspect her Darren who has been struggling to pay off his gambling debts. Janet begins to suspect there is more to the story when she discovers a secret affair between Grace and Janet’s ex, the smooth talking Kevin? Rate: ACTRA MIP AGREEMENT - HONORARIUM. LEAD ROLE. Janet is good hearted and trusting. She has had some rough times in her life but has been diligently saving money to go back to school and study journalism. She has been surrounded by some friends who have been less than reliable and truly deserves a better life. WARDROBE: Nice casual. She dresses smart, but frugally. Well groomed and takes care of herself.
LEAD ROLE. Grace is Janet’s roommate and closest friend. Grace dresses nicely, but lives a little beyond her means. She pays a little more for her clothes and makeup and enjoys the finer things in life, even though her current situation isn’t great. She is getting fed up with her boyfriend Darren who does nothing but lose money in low stakes card games. WARDROBE: Nice casual, but a little more high end than Janet.
LEAD ROLE. Darren is a bit rough around the edges, but has a kind of bad boy charm that wins over Grace’s affections. Right now he is not in a very good place in his life, and his addiction to playing cards is ruining his life. He is highly stressed because he owes a lot of money and is running out of luck. WARDROBE: Sports Jersey and Jeans and a backwards ball cap.
SUPPORTING ROLE. Kevin is a more sophisticated card player than Darren. He’s a bit more refined and more ambitious. He seems to always be on the winning side and is more business minded. Grace has been seeing Kevin on the side. HMU & WARDROBE: WARDROBE: Kevin dresses sharply, like he’s going to the club. HAIR: Hair is curly and shoulder-length.
