(Lead role) David the Clown is a down on his luck freelance clown who has recently had his identity stolen. He is anxious, awkward, and afraid to take risks. He is motivated to take control of his life and become a professional clown which he believes will free him from his anxieties and regrets. Clara hires him to perform at her wedding.
Will is the groom at the wedding. He is charming, attention seeking, and often passive aggressive. He loves his fiancée Clara but often feels threatened by her charisma and comedy. He wants to be similarly adored and resorts to overshadowing Clara to achieve this. He hires Ribbons to perform at his wedding as a surprise for his bride, whom he met at a circus.
