"Man of La Mancha" Musical Casting Actors
Auditions for musical "Man of La Mancha". Seeking cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: Man of La Mancha is one of the world’s most popular musicals. Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ 17th-century masterwork Don Quixote and set during the Spanish Inquisition, the original 1965 production won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Cervantes is in prison awaiting trial during the Spanish Inquisition. He and his fellow prisoners perform a play-within-a-play, telling the story of the elderly Alonso Quijana, who renames himself “Don Quixote” and goes on a quest to right all wrongs in the world. The rousing, Spanish-inflected score includes the classic numbers “The Impossible Dream,” “I, Don Quixote,” “Dulcinea,” “I Really Like Him” and “Little Bird.” Additional info: For this audition, please prepare 32 bars of a song to sing (about a minute’s worth). Preferably sheet music, hole punched, in a binder. Non-vocal backing tracks are also acceptable. Please plan to be there for 1.5-2 hours. The audition process is time consuming and directors will do their best to stay on schedule. Company will not be providing dance shoes for the Dance Call. Callbacks for the show will be Sunday, 10 November starting at 12 pm. If you are interested, please apply.
