About the project: "A glum employee at a crypto and asset trading company spins his wheels as he quickly finds himself entangled in a multi-million dollar scam that could spell his end." Troy is an uneasy man with severe imposter syndrome. He’s nervous that everything will go wrong despite having the capabilities to overcome them, lacking the perspective to see beyond his anxieties. Troy is well-spoken and mild-mannered, avoiding conflict to the best of his abilities, but has become comfortable enough with his friends at work to engage in their typical boyish banter. Troy is scorched against the fires of circumstance, forcing him to confront his inadequacies.
Charles, Troy’s father, is a deeply disturbed individual with narcissistic tendencies and a compulsive gambling problem, who wouldn’t hesitate to lie to the Pope if it meant saving a dollar. Charles left his family when Troy was only fifteen, refusing any contact with them, and focusing solely on himself. Charles's wit is as quick as his fuse is short, unable to control his anger which can betray the charismatic mask he dons to lower the guards of others.
Leah is the polar opposite of Troy, being a matter-of-fact woman with no time for bullshit who won’t hesitate to take what she considers hers, grabbing life by the lemons and squeezing her own lemonade. Not allowing her sordid past dictate her future, Leah has become an expert in her field of data analytics, pioneering a path as a mathematics whizz to the point of creating state-of-the-art algorithms that could change the game.
She is the new hire. He’s young, ambitious, and lacking a serious bone. His frat-like antics frame him as a frivolous and facetious co-worker, providing comedic relief in times of distress. While enjoying his role at the company, Garett is more focused on learning about workplace rumors than keeping up with the latest reports. Despite this, Garett has carved a position amongst the established friend group.
The Khan is an older Asian man who has earned respect in the office. He’s a portly man, slightly overweight and slightly below average height. He has an easy smile and is beloved within the office, considered to be the resident sage, offering advice to those who ask. Despite all this, Khan is a womanizer, having gone through multiple marriages and siring multiple children, hence the nickname.
Kevin, from India, is the office punching bag. Never taken seriously, constantly the butt of jokes, Kevin exists for others amusement. Kevin’s pathetic nature and consistent anxiety make Troy look like a gladiator. Having been longtime friends with Troy, Kevin is given a place of equal footing among the friend group, creating an eclectic camaraderie.
Dogface is the enigmatic boss of the company who treats his coworkers like pieces on a chessboard: disposable so long as he wins. He doesn’t mince his words, and his mere presence in the office is felt as much as seen.
