Singing Audition for "Disaster" Play
Actors are invited to audition for "Disaster" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Disaster! is a musical comedy written by Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick and created by Seth Rudetsky and Drew Geraci; additional materials by Drew Geraci. The content is PG-13 in nature, any child auditioning should be aware of this in advance. Additional info: Come prepared to sing approximately a 1-minute of a 70 ’70s or 80 song of your choice, please provide your own backing track that can be hooked up to our speaker system via Bluetooth. Auditioners will also be asked to follow a short choreographed routine. Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, November 26 if necessary at 6:00 pm. If cast in the show, rehearsals will typically take place Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8:30 pm and Sunday afternoons from 4-8 pm. Not all actors will be called for all rehearsals or even all hours of each rehearsal. Anyone cast in the show will be required to attend all of the tech week from Sunday, February 9 through Thursday, February 13-you will rehearse each evening that week. Directors cannot make exceptions to this policy. Saturday mornings are reserved for set building. As a community theater, directors rely on the cast members, their families, and the community to ensure the sets are built and painted with quality and efficiency in mind. Awkward, judgmental nun with a gambling addiction. Great pop/gospel high belt. Guitar ability a plus but not required. Vocal range top: B5 (soprano)
