About the project: James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece… and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. Rate: This is a non-paying gig. Additional info: Please arrive about 15 minutes before the beginning of the audition time to fill out forms etc. A headshot and resume would be greatly appreciated. If bringing please have your headshot and resume, stapled together. PERFORMANCE INFO: Weekends, January 17 – 26, 2025 Friday and Saturday Showtimes at 730pm and Sundays at 230pm Possible Thursday Performances if needed at 730pm REHEARSAL INFO: Rehearsal is generally held Monday through Friday 6:30PM – 9:30PM with possibly weekend rehearsals as tech week approaches. Please attend with a known list of conflicts, the casting team will want to know your availability. Also please know this show will rehearse over the holidays so please come with those conflicts as well! Auditions will involve cold readings from the script, along with selected musical pieces that will be taught during the session. It is important to come dressed in attire suitable for movement, as physicality may be a part of the audition process. Additionally, candidates should have a good understanding of the show to ensure they are well-prepared. Please refrain from attending in costume, as this is not required for the audition.
