About the project: Summary: A chronically ill woman finds her life upended when her android caretaker's true desires are revealed. I Wouldn’t Want To Be Like You is a science-fiction short film with experimental elements. Production will consist of two typical days and one additional day in a more experimental, loose mode of filmmaking. Rate: This is an unpaid project - copy and credit will be given to all involved. Additional info: Union status: Non-Union Date for callbacks: Tuesday, October 29th. Projected shooting dates: November 12th, November 16-17th. When applying, please include a headshot and resume with the role(s) you are interested in, and sides will be provided in order for you to complete your self-tape. Directors will then follow up with instructions for in-person callbacks, which will be held on October 29th.

Bibi's caretaker, a young android (humanoid robot) processing her dissatisfaction with herself amidst a push-and-pull relationship. What Liv desires most is an identity of her own. She’s responsible for Bibi’s health, but also subservient to her. Bibi is like a mother to her — but also a sister, a partner, and a master.

A chronically ill woman struggling to balance her needs with her emotions. The stress of her life shows in her irritability and lack of self-control. Liv is her servant, but Bibi feels jealous of her perfection and physical prowess, as if Liv is a better “person” than she’ll ever be.

MOTHER WITH INFANTFemale18-45 y.o.All ethnicities

INFANT (with MOTHER): Non-speaking role(s). A mother and her child have an off-putting encounter with Liv. The role is limited to 3-4 shots and will take no more than 2 hours. The scene takes place outside under a large, shady tree. No audition necessary, just apply. Full accommodations can and will be made to make performers feel as comfortable and safe as possible.
