Seeking talent for "The Music Man" show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: When Harold Hill, a traveling con man, arrives in River City, he convinces the locals to start a band by purchasing the uniforms and instruments from him. His intention is to flee as soon as he receives the money. Librarian Marian Paroo suspects Harold is a fraud but holds her tongue since her moody brother, Winthrop, is excited about the band. As Harold begins to develop feelings for Marian, he faces a difficult decision about skipping town. Additional info: Please prepare 16 – 32 bars of a musical theater song that showcases your range and acting ability. Please bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Sides will be provided. You may be asked to read or sing selections from the show. There will be a dance audition. Please wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear to learn a short combination. Headshot and resume are recommended but not required. Callbacks, if needed, will be held on Thursday, November 21st. Performance Dates and Times: Friday, February 7 at 7 PM; Saturday, February 8 at 7 PM; Sunday, February 9 at 3 PM; Friday, February 14 at 7 PM; Saturday, February 15 at 7 PM; Sunday, February 16 at 3 PM; Rehearsals will be held on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays beginning December 1st. Please bring a list of your rehearsal conflicts. Tech week is Sunday, February 2nd- Thursday, February 6th. No tech week or performance conflicts will be accepted. If interested, please apply.
