Singing Opportunities in "Footloose" Production
Auditions for the "Footloose". Looking for cast. Please see the breakdown below. Rate: All performers will be paid a per-performance stipend. Additionally, those cast will be given the opportunity to join the restaurant service staff (if legally eligible, and following training) where they may earn gratuities. Additional info: Auditionees only need to attend one night of auditions. Please bring a headshot and resume with you to audition. Please prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show to be sung a cappella. You may be asked to learn/sing a song from Footloose at auditions, so familiarity with the cast recording is highly encouraged, but not necessary. Be prepared to perform cold readings from the script. There will be a dance audition, so please bring or wear clothes that you can move in and that shows our choreographer how you move. Performance Dates: Friday and Saturday evenings February 8, 14, 15, 22, 28, March 1, 7, 8, 15, 21, 22, 28, & 29, and Sunday matinees February 23, March 16, & 30. Additional performances may be added on March 2, 9, 14, and 23 if needed. Must reside within driving distance of Hagerstown, MD. Housing is not provided. Please see the attachment for details. Tenor. Energetic, emotional, rebellious, likeable; emotes his pain through quirky sarcasm and dance; strong dancer.
Baritone. The powerful, traditional local church leader; strict, stern, and solemn, still struggling with the death of his son.
Mezzo-Pop. Smart, a bit of the bad girl with an edge, sweet, the rebellious minister’s daughter; role requires strong belt, must be a strong singer/dancer.
Soprano. Reverend Moore’s loving, supportive, resilient wife.
Great soprano/pop voice. Ariel’s friend; a bit scatterbrained, sweet, fun, knows everything about everything; role requires strong belt, strong comedic timing and dance.
Tenor. A simple country bumpkin with a warm heart and a big smile; comedic timing and dance a must.
Soprano. Ren’s mother; had a tough go, just trying to make it…would do anything for her son.
Tenor. The local bad boy and Ariel’s boyfriend.
Mezzo/Alto. Ariel’s friend; the smart one of the group; role requires strong belt, comedic timing, and dance.
Mezzo. Ariel’s friend; strong belt, comedic timing, and dance required.
