Singing Audition for "Something Rotten!" Show
The company is holding auditions for "Something Rotten!" show and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Additional info: Performance Dates: Fridays, March 7 & 14, 2025 @ 8:00 PM Saturdays, March 8 & 15, 2025 @ 8:00 PM Sundays, March 9 & 16, 2024 @ 2:00 PM Please bring: A resume (If you do not have a resume that is OK, as there is a section on the registration form, which directors will ask you to fill out, that provides space for you to list your past shows.) A recent photo of yourself (The photo doesn’t need to be a professional headshot and you may print it on regular paper.) A list of conflicts from January - March (You should include all conflicts Monday – Sunday.) Initial auditions are music only. Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show. The song you choose can be from the show. When applying, please include which day you would like to audition (Sunday, December 8 @ 7:00 PM Monday, December 9 @ 7:00 PM) and which role(s) you would like to audition for.

(vocal range: A2-G4). A frustrated Renaissance writer at his wit’s end, trapped in Shakespeare’s shadow. Passionate, at times goofy, and competitive. Nigel’s older brother and Bea’s husband. Seeking a comedic actor that sings and dances well. Tap experience a plus.
(vocal range: Ab2-Ab4) A strutting, swaggering rockstar. Over-the-top and cocky. Seeking a comedic actor that sings and dances well. Should be able to do a British accent. Tap experience a plus.
(vocal range: Eb3-A4) An adorably sincere, sometimes awkward poet. Initially very nervous and humble, but slowly gains confidence through a shared appreciation of poetry with his newfound love, Portia.
(vocal range: D3-D5). A capable and charismatic woman determined to live her own way in Elizabethan England (even if it means dressing as man to do it). Warm-hearted but strong. Seeking an actor with great comic delivery and a mezzo belt.
(vocal range: G3-F#5) . A bright young Puritan woman who can’t help her passionate love of poetry, theatre, and ultimately, Nigel. Seeking a comedic actor who sings well. Soprano with a mix.
(vocal range: C3-F4) – (will consider female performers for this role). A soothsayer who predicts the future not quite accurately with hilarious results. Goofy at times, yet sometimes wise. Seeking a comedic actor with a big personality and strong ability to do patter songs. Tap experience is a plus.
(vocal range: C#3-A4). A charismatic singer who welcomes the audience to the show and serves as an occasional narrator. Also in the ensemble.
(vocal range: G3-G4). A tightly laced Puritan who despises playwrights, poets, and all things “ungodly.” Portia’s father. Rock baritone
Patron of theatre. He’s flamboyant and extremely posh. Performer will also be in the ensemble.
A Jewish money lender to whom Nick is in debt. Dreams of getting into show business. Performer will also be part of the ensemble.
