Tod is the angel of death. He is ancient, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, stoic, and not easily amused because he's seen it all. For Tod, things are black and white. The universe has laws, and they must be followed.

European American. He's creepy and perverted. But he's a hypocrite. He tries to convince the world that he is good-natured and Christian, but he isn't. He's a monster hiding behind zealotry and piousness.

She's insecure and has a lot of abuse in her background. Abuse that pushed her to marry a man like Philip. Her twisted religious views convince her that supporting her husband in every way is what God wants her to do. No matter how heinous and sinister he is. She's petty, jealous, immature, and frequently stoops to the children's level.

She is less fiery and obstinate than her younger self. She is still very strong-willed and determined to succeed. She wants what is best for her and her son. But living a happy life is impossible because she has Tod stalking her and her son for reneging on their pact.

He's the father of the main protagonist, Oliver Quick. He's a traditional man with traditional values. He believes strongly in a nuclear family if he sees the woman as innocent and virtuous. Once he doesn't, he's done.

30. He's an easygoing doctor who cares deeply for his patients. He's so dedicated to the job that he finds dating or having a love life impossible. So, his career and his patients have become the love of his life.
