Damien, a trans man, visits his parents for the first time since his transition. Accompanied by his sister, when he is reunited with his parents, they don't recognize him. His parents mistake Damien for someone his sister brought home for them to meet in a different context, forcing Damien to navigate an awkward situation while also trying to figure out the best time to tell them the truth about who he is. - UNION / NON-UNION - UNPAID - STUDENT FILM

A trans man with a complicated coming out story. His parents ignored his coming out. He moved away from home and had minimal contact while he was away, only keeping consistent contact with his sister. Damien is soft spoken, socially awkward and not very confrontational unless provoked.
Damien's older sister. The two grew up very close and still are. Victoria was always protecting Damien from bullies, at school and at home, especially after he came out. The rule is that "Victoria is the only one allowed to make fun of Damien." She's not afraid of conflict, has a sarcastic sense of humor, both traits she very evidently gets from her Dad.
A laid back kind of guy. Old fashioned in some ways and progressive in others. His questionable views/ comments come from a place of ignorance rather than malice, but that doesn't change the fact that this causes tension between him and his kids.
A hostess at heart, she wants everyone to feel safe and welcomed in her home. Like her son, she's not very confrontational and often gets lumped in with her husbands views on things. At her core, she loves her kids very much and would do anything to protect them.
