About the project: Student short film about a 20-year-old, Hadi, who goes back in time to 2002 to connect with the college version of his estranged father, Hossein. The film deals with themes of personal growth, racial identity, and family bonding within a fun, sci-fi premise. Rate: Travel, lodging, and food will be provided by the production. Angry yet caring, Iranian. He yearns for a deeper connection with his father but hides this desperate desire beneath a tough exterior, often resorting to outbursts when struggling to communicate his feelings. However, at his core, he is an innocent kid who seeks only love, acceptance, and clarity.
Awkward yet charming, Iranian. Hossein is Hadi’s stern and emotionally distant father in 2038, but a kind yet somewhat lonely college student in 2002. His difficulties giving and accepting love in his youth led to a disconnect with his son in his later years as a father.
Can pass for 20s, charming and kind. May is Hadi’s mother and Hossein’s wife. She wishes to bridge the gap between the two most important people in her life but knows that there is only so much she can do.
