About the project: When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again. Freaky Friday, a new musical based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, is a heartfelt, comedic, and unexpectedly emotional update on an American classic. By spending a day in each other's shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another's struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter. Additional info: Callbacks (by invitation): Saturday, January 18th, 6:30pm. What to Prepare: Approximately 16-32 bars (roughly a verse and chorus) from any similar rock musical. You can choose something by the same composer or anything in a similar style. Choose something in a good range for your voice. Your songs should use backing tracks. Find tracks on YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, etc. Pianist is not available, so please bring a backing track on a device with a headphone jack or Bluetooth connection. Acapella audition songs are not advised. There will be a dance audition. Choreography will be taught on site. Please wear something you can move in. Auditions will also include readings from the script Performance Schedule: May 9th – 25th, 2025 Thursdays - Saturdays; 6:30pm call time, 7:30pm performance. Sundays; 1:00pm call time, 2:00pm performance.
