ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Directors are currently in need of lead and supporting actors for a short student film. Please, see the details below. About the project: A short, body-horror film. A burnt-out health insurance agent struggles to keep her job while caring for her ailing mother, who's stricken with an unidentified disease. Rate: ACTRA or Non-Union. Unpaid, but transportation and food provided. This is a final-year thesis project, and a great opportunity for reel footage. Addiitional information: Location: Etobicoke. Dates: October 29 to October 31. Supporting voice roles can be done from home if you have the proper equipment. When applying, please submit head shots, reels and resumes.

Lead. Exhausted to the point of numbness. Reed is caring for her paralyzed mother while working as a patient advocate for pharmaceutical companies. Reed struggles to tend to her mother while keeping the job that funds her mother’s resources. This situation has caused Reed to feel removed when confronted with others’ illnesses.

Lead. Paralyzed from the neck down. What was once a lively woman is now trapped in a shell of her former self, only able to communicate with her eyes. A terrible disease has stricken her, causing her bones to spontaneously break. Flexibility or contortionism is a plus.

Lead. Voice-over performance, with a silent appearance at the end. Compassionate, but terrifying when the moment calls for it. His son has an incurable, but treatable disease. Gregory has been burned time and time again by the healthcare system, and resorts to his aggression to get what’s best for his son.
