Talent Wanted for Upcoming Singing Audition
Casting actors, performers, and singers for upcoming theatre plays/shows. See the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: 1. "Heartbreak Hotel" This official Elvis Presley bio-musical takes a closer look at the rock star and incomparable icon whose impact shaped the history of music and culture. Trapped in a moment of crisis, his younger self guides him through pivotal moments of his life that led him to become “The King of Rock and Roll.” Heartbreak Hotel features over 40 Elvis hits and iconic songs including, “That’s All Right,” “All Shook Up,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Burning Love,” “Hound Dog,” “Love Me Tender,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Are You Lonesome,” and “Blue Suede Shoes.” Rehearsals begin on or around Dec. 8 with a Jan. 8-Mar. 2 run. 2. "Jesus Christ Superstar" What’s the buzz? The first musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice to be produced for the professional stage, Jesus Christ Superstar has wowed audiences for over 50 years. A timeless work, the rock opera is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Loosely based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, Superstar follows the last week of Jesus Christ’s life. The story told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire. The iconic 1970s rock score contains such well-known numbers as “Superstar,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” and “Gethsemane.” Rehearsals begin on or around Feb. 9 with a Mar. 12-Apr. 27 run. 3. "Next to Normal" Dad's an architect; Mom rushes to pack lunches and pour cereal; their daughter and son are bright, wise-cracking teens, appearing to be a typical American family. And yet their lives are anything but normal because the mother has been battling bipolar disorder for 16 years. Next to Normal takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family's story with love, sympathy, and heart. This deeply moving piece of theatre provides a wonderful opportunity for performers to explore dramatic material and showcase vocal talents with an energetic pop/rock score. Next to Normal is an emotional powerhouse that addresses such issues as grieving a loss, ethics in modern psychiatry, and suburban life. Dance Requirements: None Rehearsals begin on or around June 1st with a July 2-Aug. 3 run. Additional info: Preparation: 16-32 bars of a musical theatre or pop song to sing in the style of the show along with the sheet music for our accompanist to play for your audition. If applicable, your resume should reflect your dance or movement ability 8x10 Headshot. To be considered, please apply.
