About the project: Synopsis: Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America. Additional info: Audition Sides are attached. Choose and prepare one audition side. (Note: choose the audition side that shows your best as an actor, regardless of the gender or age of the character.) Sides do NOT need to be memorized, though it is recommended to be familiar with the material prior to auditioning. Prepare up to one minute of a song from the show or a song in the style of the show. Choose a song that shows your best assets and that you can perform confidently. Call backs will be utilized only if absolutely necessary, at the discretion of the production team, and if needed would occur Wednesday evening, 12/13. Cast list will be posted by 12/17. Casting is chosen based on preparation of audition materials, scheduling conflicts, audition performance, and other strictly performance-based factors. Rehearsal Requirements: POSSIBLE ranges of Rehearsal Days/Time** Sundays: 1:00-5:00 Tuesdays: 4:30-8:00 Thursdays: 4:30-8:00 Fridays: 4:30-8:30 Saturdays: 9:00 am-5:00 pm **NOTE: The times ranges above are NOT a reflection of an actual rehearsal schedule, but are only meant to give an idea of the general time(s) of day a rehearsal might occur. Actual rehearsal times will be set based on the availability of those cast/crew. Cast will be called to 1-3 rehearsals/week, and a single rehearsal will typically last between 1.5-3 hours. Tech Week/Performance Week Requirements: Tech Week(no conflicts): Feb. 18-21 Feb. 22: Evening performance @ 7:00 pm Feb. 23: Public performance @ 7:00 pm Feb. 24: Public performance @ 7:00 pm Feb. 25: Public performance @ 2:30 pm (Cast stays after final performance to help with strike!)
