About the project: "When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again. Freaky Friday, a new musical based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, is a heartfelt, comedic, and unexpectedly emotional update on an American classic. By spending a day in each other's shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another's struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter." Additional info: Audition Requirements: - Please prepare a 1-minute to 1.5-minute cut of a song NOT from Freaky Friday. Please bring your own sheet music, or track, or have a YouTube link with start/stop times on a device ready to plug into a speaker or connect to Bluetooth. - All actors will be asked to read a monologue or scene from the script. Rehearsal and Performance Details: - Rehearsals will commence soon after auditions, with performances scheduled from 4/10/2025 - 4/13/2025. No conflicts will be accepted between 4/5/2025 and 4/13/2025. The exact schedule will be determined with those cast. Important Notes: - Auditions are open to performers of all backgrounds and ethnicities. - All audition sessions will be closed. - Directors encourage all interested in auditioning to listen to the cast recording before auditioning. - Callbacks to follow auditions, as necessary.
