About the project: A reformed cowboy, Kinan, returns to his hometown after failing to make it big in the big city and for his father's funeral. He searches for his old ranch buddy, Gabriel, whom he hasn’t heard from in years. Rate: Unpaid but credited Non-Union actors Additional info: Location / Area: San Francisco, CA, and Areas surrounding Watsonville, Hollister, and Salinas, CA Dates/Time: October 19-20, 26-27, time-varying (for the Flashback Scenes shot on Super 8 ) January 11-12, January 18-19 time-varying (for the late 90s present-day story) Commercial usage (if applicable): the goal is to do the festival circuit and find a distribution company to gain profits to pay the crew and cast equally, hopefully Additional notes: locals of the bay area are prioritized for the leading roles; extras may be open to all. Lead. Kinan has had a hard time coming out to his family. He deals with his form of redemption by finding Gabriel again to discover why they fell apart. He is open to his family now, and they, of course, were iffy about his coming out but never accepted him in a "you're our son" kind of way and nothing more.
