About the project: Step back in time to an era defined by epic guitar solos, sky-high hair, and legendary bands with even bigger egos! Rock of Ages is the electrifying, Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical that brings the spirit of the ’80s right to the stage. Relive the unforgettable hits of iconic bands like Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, and many more! This is your chance to dive into a world of rock ’n’ roll dreams, unforgettable characters, and a storyline that’ll have you singing and dancing all night long. Rate: All roles open, Non AEA. Is a volunteer company, and no pay is offered to performers in this production. Additional info: Please prepare 16 to 32 bars (No A Cappella). You can sing a song in the style of the show or from the show. Rehearsal Dates: Rehearsals will begin (approximately, depending on cast conflicts) on October 20 and are generally Saturdays at 10:00am-3:00pm, Sundays at 6:00pm - 9:00pm, and Monday through Thursday nights at 7:00pm -10:00. You will not be called to all rehearsals. Performance Dates and Times: 7 performances from Saturday, January 11 - Sunday, January 26, 2025 Saturdays: 7pm; Sunday Matinees: 1pm, and an additional performance January 25 at 1pm Please download audition form. Vocal Range: Bb3-D5 An appealing, good-guy rocker with great, easy comedic timing, a boyish charm, vulnerability, and a very strong rock tenor voice. Drew works at the legendary Bourbon Room hoping and waiting for his dreams to come true. He finds an instant attraction to Sherrie, the beautiful new arrival from the Midwest, who encourages him to go after his dreams.
Vocal Range: G3-F5 Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world. An innocent Midwestern aspiring actress from a small US town who has moved to the big city to make it big. She gets a job as a waitress at the Bourbon Room, and then takes a job at the Venus Club as a stripper. Strong comedic timing, strong rock belt, strong dance abilities, and should be comfortable in revealing/skimpy clothing.
Vocal Range: D3-D5 The narrator and emcee of the show with a charming, mischievous, welcoming, crude but loveable, vibrant personality. Lonny is an ex-drummer, and now the sound engineer at the Bourbon Room. He needs a strong rock vocal tenor voice and exceptional comic timing and improvisation skills. Lonny breaks the 4th wall repeatedly and addresses/interacts with the audience directly throughout the show.
Vocal Range: D3-G4 Dennis owns the Bourbon Room. He is an ex-rocker who is still living his best rock life running the club. Torn about whether he should sell the club to Hertz, a German businessman. Very strong comedic timing. A laid back, easy going dude. Bari-tenor rock vocals. Solid vocals and good comic timing are essential. Dennis is a real character role.
Vocal Range: C3-Eb5 A sexy rock star. Decided to leave his successful hair/metal-rock band to try it solo. Self important, confident, and intriguing in all the wrong ways, the ultimate bad boy; he is all about sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. Great comedic timing and strong rock tenor voice.
Vocal Range: G3-Db5. She has a strong presence, an easy sensuality about her. Once a performer, she now operates a strip club where Sherrie winds up working. Takes on the maternal role for the girls that work for her. Strong, soulful vocals and belt needed.
Vocal Range: F3-G#4 An uptight, cold, and intimidating German businessman trying to buy up the Strip to develop it. The bad guy of the piece. Strong comedic timing and baritone vocals.
Vocal Range: Db3-E5. Hertz’s son, also German. Works for his father, but not by choice. Pressured and intimidated by his father. Shy, gentle with a big heart. A comedic character with a strong German accent and vibrant energy, emphasizing the comedy while handling the character’s traits with sensitivity and respect. Strong vocals and comedic timing.
Vocal Range: A3-Eb5 A fun, hippie type, earthy girl who fights against the attempted takeover of The Strip. Strong comedic timing, belt vocals, and comfortable in revealing/skimpy clothing.
Vocal Range: Tenor Strong character actor with good comedic timing to play numerous roles, strong rock tenor, and strong dance/movement ability.
Vocal Range: Tenor. A young male with the rocker sensibility, strong rock tenor and strong/ dance/movement ability.
