Performers Needed for "A Chorus Line" Show

Baritone. The director and choreographer of the show. He is authoritative, demanding, and somewhat enigmatic. Zach runs the audition process and interacts with the dancers from a position of control.

Tenor. Zach's assistant. He helps demonstrate dance moves and works closely with Zach. Larry is supportive and encouraging toward the auditionees.

(no number) Mezzo-Soprano: A3-C#5 (opt. D#5) A former successful solo dancer now seeking a return to the chorus line. She has a complex history with Zach, which adds tension. Cassie is determined, passionate, and a standout dancer

Alto: G3-Bb4 (opt. E3) The oldest dancer auditioning, Sheila is confident, sassy, and often sarcastic. She uses humor to mask her vulnerability and past struggles.

Mezzo-Soprano: Range: G#3-C#5 Outgoing and confident, Val is a dancer who has enhanced her physical appearance through surgery. She is unapologetically candid about her journey to improve her looks to get more roles.

Alto: G3-C#5 (opt. F#5) A street-smart, tough, and spunky dancer from the Bronx. Diana is determined and hardworking, with a strong sense of self. *This role is reserved for a Latina performer

Mezzo-Soprano Quirky, tall, and a bit ditsy, Judy is warm-hearted and optimistic. She often provides comic relief with her bubbly personality.

Mezzo Soprano: Cb4-Eb5 Kristine is a dancer with a strong southern accent and a lot of enthusiasm. She is slightly scatterbrained and has a major issue with singing off-key, which adds to her comedic charm. Kristine is married to Al, another dancer auditioning.

Soprano: A3-E5 (opt. A5) Sweet and sincere, Maggie is a hopeful and dedicated dancer with dreams of stardom. She has a nurturing and gentle nature.

Range: F#3-C#5 Very insecure about her looks and tries to be funny to cover her insecurities. Feels a little excluded but just wants to be liked. She is quiet, vulnerable and kind. Sings the middle harmony in “At the Ballet.”

Alto: C4-D5 Petite and feisty, Connie is a dancer with a lot of spunk. She has a positive outlook and a strong stage presence. *This role can be played as Connie Wong (Asian American) or Connie Mackenzie (from North Carolina)

Baritone: F3-G#4 Energetic and enthusiastic, Mike is the youngest of 12 children and a talented tap dancer. He has a big personality and is eager to impress. Tap dance required, tumbling skills are a plus.

Tenor: D3-A4 (opt. C#5 & E5) Charismatic, high-energy, and full of life, Richie is an optimistic and enthusiastic dancer who brings a positive vibe to the group. *This role is reserved for a Black performe

Baritone: D3-F#4 Cool, Midwest, all-American.

Tenor: C#3-F#4 A shy and introverted dancer who opens up about his difficult childhood and struggles with his identity. Paul's emotional monologue is a poignant moment in the show. *This role is reserved for a Latino performer

Tenor: E3-G#4 The youngest dancer in the audition, Mark is innocent, naïve, and eager to learn. He shares humorous anecdotes about his journey.

Baritone: D3-E4 Description: Greg is confident and self-assured, with a dry sense of humor. He shares his experiences with his sexuality and the challenges he's faced.

Baritone: Eb3-C4 Description: Flamboyant, witty, and sarcastic, Bobby uses humor to mask his insecurities. He is one of the more eccentric and comedic characters.

Tenor: E3-G#4 Dancer who sings well. Tough, streetwise, from the Bronx, overtly masculine.

Mezzo-Soprano: B3 - E5 A pretty, California-blonde type. She has not had any ballet training nor done any Broadway shows.

Bb3-Db5. Been in a touring company but not a Broadway show. Tricia has a vocal solo in “I Hope I Get It.”

C4-Eb5 (opt. B3) Ballerina who can’t get through the jazz combination; non-speaking.

C3-Eb4 (opt. B2) Headband boy; Continually looks at his feet while dancing; non-speaking.

C3-Eb4 (opt. B2) Has a bit of an attitude. Can’t correct his mistake in the first boys' combination; non-speaking.

C3-Eb4 (opt. B2) Has only had one year of ballet training; wrong-arm boy.

C3-Eb4 (opt. B2) Counts with his mouth; non-speaking.
