Casting Call for "How to say Goodbye" Film
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking cast to play roles in "How to say Goodbye" film. More details are below. About the project: Will receives an acceptance letter from a postsecondary school; immediately his mind goes to his best friend Alex and how it'll affect him. Will goes to have lunch with Alex only to be overwhelmed with guilt; Alex offers Will to hang out with him for the day to calm down. Will, after spending the day with Alex, is overwhelmed and breaking down; he tells Alex the truth of him having to leave, Alex comforts Will, reassuring him of the future and their friendship. Rate: Non-Union. volunteer project. Catering, Craft service, and demo reel footage provided. Additional information: Student Production. Audition: Self-Tapes (online submission). Shoot Date(s): October 29th-31st, 2024. Shoot Location(s): TBD (Metro-Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver). General: The film at its core is about friendship, and letting go what means the most to you. Actors will be expected to be comfortable with topics of mental health and self-harm. Will, a caring, but timid boy just a few months out of high school, has mentally, and physical health issues that haunt him to this day. He was saved by his friend Alex, leading him to believe he owes him. When faced with the reality of an acceptance letter from a postsecondary education, Will now must decide between his future or his treasured friendship.
Alex, someone perfectly at peace with his current situation, watches his best friend, Will, suffer in a world that’s not meant for him. Alex is confident in himself and always looking to lighten the mood with a joke. Alex stands as Will’s emotional pillar, as the 2 only really have each other. Although he loves his small, quaint lifestyle, he knows he must get Alex into a happier future.
A waitress sour about not only her job, but her life. She works her job just picking up a cheque, not really caring to try hard. With a strong judging personality that is in your face, she makes her opinions and thoughts not only be written across her face, but vocally known as well.
