Singers Needed for "The Sound of Music" Show
The company is holding auditions for Rodgers and Hammerstein, "The Sound of Music" and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Additional info: Auditioners should prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre piece showcasing their range and be prepared to dance. Rehearsals for “The Sound of Music” will be weeknights beginning September 30th from 6:30-9pm. The show will open Friday December 6th, 2024, and run weekends through December 22nd, with Friday and Saturday Performances at 7pm and Sunday matinee performances at 2:30pm, house doors and concessions open a half hour before curtain time.

(non-singing) The von Trapp butler, rather formal but not without spirit, he is very German and loyal to the Fascist cause.
(non-singing) The housekeeper, stoic, very little personality; she does her job efficiently but without affection. Strong and somewhat dominating
(alto)Mistress of Novices, prudish, straight laced with a quick tongue, she is less tolerant than other nuns.
(mezzo) Mistress of Postulants, very kind, understanding and concerned.
(Soprano) Neither demanding nor critical, sticks with the rules
(legit soprano, wide vocal range) Motherly, understanding, strong and authoritative, but kind.
“uncle Max” (tenor/baritone) Charming and vital; a man of sophistication who enjoys the good life; true and loyal friend to the von Trapp family.
(mezzo soprano)A baroness of taste and elegance, sophisticated, dignified and mature.
(baritone) A retired Austrian naval captain. Polished, yet very military in the way he runs his life to repress his sadness over the death of his wife; underneath, he is warm, understanding, and determined.
(musical theatre mix/soprano)A postulant at Nonnberg Abbey – young, free spirited, warm, gentle and kind with much determination.
