Seeking Talent for Dance Audition
Audition for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". All parts are open for casting including singers and performers. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Learn Go, Go, Go Joseph, measures 92-102. You will use the repeat; prepare to sing the first time through on the melody against our music director’s harmony, and the second time through with a harmony against the music director’s melody. In addition to the above, learn the dance combination from a video that will be linked here NO LATER THAN September 9th. You will perform the dance 2-3 times as a group at the end of the hour in which you audition. There may be opportunities for featured dancers in this cast, and some roles require more movement than others. If necessary, callbacks will take place on the afternoon of September 22nd. Principal, Tenor (B2-G4) Eleventh and favorite son of Jacob. Confident and charming. Vocally strong.
Principal Mezzo (B3 - G5) The audience’s guides through the story. The narrators tell Joseph’s story with song. Can command the stage while directing focus to story elements. Strong singers with great energy.
Supporting Baritone (B2 - G4) The King (of Egypt), but portrayed as a certain world-famous rock star of yesteryear. Full of energy and confidence.
Supporting C3 - F4 Joseph’s oldest brother, who sings a yodel-esque country song to mourn his “dead” brother. (“One More Angel in Heaven”)
Supporting C3 - F4 Joseph’s second brother, who mourns not his brother, but the extravagant lives they used to live in a song reminiscent of French cafes. (“Those Canaan Days”)
Supporting C3 - F4 In this show, Judah is Joseph’s 10th brother, who sings a Calypso to save the 11th brother’s life. (“Benjamin Calypso”)
Supporting Baritone (D2-B3) Rich, self-indulgent, and sophisticated Egyptian capitalist. Strong character actor with a powerful speaking voice.
Supporting Alto Indulgent and confident in her pursuit of what she wants, which at this time happens to be Joseph. Dancing role.
Supporting Baritone Aged father of Joseph and his 11 brothers. Strong character actor who can sing and move well.
Supporting Soprano Joins her husband in a counter-melody for “One More Angel in Heaven.”
