About the project: Incognegro: Genesis is a powerful, thought-provoking story that explores race, identity, and justice in America. It follows Ronald and his younger brother Marquis as they navigate a world of systemic racism, familial bonds, and dangerous consequences. When Marquis is tragically killed by police under false pretenses, Ronald faces a moral crossroads, torn between justice and the reality of being a light-skinned Black man in America. This film is based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Mat Johnson. Rate: Non-paid! • Description: A maternal figure, Aunt Sherri is a strong woman who holds the family together. She is loving but firm, and she struggles deeply with the loss of her nephew Marquis. • Notes: Must portray a range of emotions, from nurturing to deep sorrow.
• Description: Daniela is an affluent young woman interning to be a prosecutor. She is confident, manipulative, and harbors deeply ingrained racial biases. Her actions play a key role in Marquis’ tragic fate. • Notes: Must portray a mix of charisma and insidious prejudice.
• Description: The officers who respond to the park incident and fatally shoot Marquis. Their actions are central to the film’s commentary on systemic racism and police brutality.
