"Cats" The Musical Casting Performers

Theatre is holding auditions for "Cats". Looking for cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See more info below. About the project: "One of the world’s best-known and meow-velous musicals! The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year – the night of the Jellicle Ball. One by one they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, who must choose one of the Cats to ascend to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life." Rate: Unpaid. Additional info: Auditions are open to the public. This production features a large volunteer cast of 22-26 multifaceted performers of all gender identities, ethnicities, and body types who can sing, dance/move, and act. Note that not all cats require dance. This production team may choose to cast across gender identities, body types, and vocal ranges for this cast; any vocal type that can sing the part without musical transposition (ie. may “sing up/down the octave”) are welcome to audition for the roles that interest them. Note that this will not change the gender of the character as written, but directors are open to various genders portraying those characters. REHEARSALS BEGIN: Monday, September 16, 2024. PERFORMANCES: November 15 – December 15, 2024 (Wednesdays – Saturdays at 7:30 pm, Saturdays* and Sundays at 2:00 pm. *Saturday matinee performances begin November 23).
