About the project: The Singer: tells the story of Jackie, a once-celebrated musician whose career and life have hit a low point. With the help of Samantha, a passionate and determined young vocal coach, Jackie rediscovers his love for music, faces personal grief, and begins a journey toward redemption. Additional info: Location: - Filming will take place in the Cleveland, OH area. Dates: - Shooting is scheduled for October 2024 or March 2025. The “THE SINGER: AUDITION [YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME, ROLE] In the subject line. When applying, please submit a headshot, resume, and a self-tape performing a dramatic monologue (2-3 minutes). Actors auditioning for Jackie and Samantha are encouraged to also submit a video showcasing their vocal abilities (optional but preferred).

(Lead) - A washed-up singer who was once an icon but has fallen into bitterness and alcoholism. Charismatic but broken, he hides his vulnerability behind sarcasm and indifference. Requires strong acting chops to portray emotional depth, and musical experience is a plus (singing or playing an instrument).
(Lead) - A passionate and idealistic vocal coach. She’s a huge fan of Jackie’s work but quickly learns her hero has a hardened exterior. She’s persistent, kind, and brings a fresh energy to Jackie's life. Must be able to portray a strong emotional arc and have some vocal or musical background.
(Supporting) - Jackie’s long-time manager. He’s tough, practical, and cares deeply about Jackie but is frustrated with his destructive behavior. He serves as both a voice of reason and tough love.
(Supporting) - A pivotal figure in Jackie’s past, Kimi was his vocal coach and mentor. Appears in flashbacks as a nurturing yet strict teacher who saw potential in Jackie from the start.
(Supporting) - A young, ambitious version of Jackie seen in flashbacks during his rise to fame. He is hopeful, talented, and eager to succeed. Some musical talent required.
