Casting Call for "Assorted Heroes: Road Trip" Film

Vancouver, BC, Canada
ID: 269404Exp: 9/8/2024
online audition
Description:

ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking actors of Japanese descent to play roles in the production of "Assorted Heroes: Road Trip". More details are below. About the project: "Assorted Heroes: Road Trip" is about a group of four "semi-retired" superheroes who haven't seen each other in years and are now thrust together in a journey to save the multiverse while encountering a variety of new heroes and other characters along the way. One of the main four heroes is a Japanese character who goes by Lightning Blade, and his storyline throughout the film involves encounters with Japanese gods in some more emotional scenes who teach him about his true power. Rather than being an action or superhero film, this is more of a sitcom that happens to be about superheroes. That being said, the characters they are casting for currently are for some of the more serious, dialogue-based scenes of the film. Rate: Non-Union. None. This is a volunteer project that will go on the YouTube channel. Additional information: Audition Location: Online. Shoot Date(s): A weekend date sometime during September, exact date to be decided on. Shoot Location(s): Vancouver, BC. For more details regarding the roles, please see the attachment. When applying, please submit the following: your full name, a little bit about yourself, the character you are interested in playing, and any photos of your current appearance (these do not have to be professional head shots). Directors will respond with an audition script for the character and you can then record a self-tape and send it to them by September 8. You do not have to memorize the audition script and you can read off of it during the self-tape; directors are mainly looking for line delivery and acting skills since these are smaller roles that do not need a large amount of memorization.

A Hero Movie Casting

2 roles

RaijinMale18-56 y.o.Asian

Raijin is the Japanese god of lightning and meant to be a more serious character. He is generally calm but can be stern when his mood changes, much like the weather. In this film, he welcomes the character Hikari (aka Lightning Blade) to the realm of the gods and has a talk with him about his abilities. Looking for a Japanese actor to portray the character; however, this is an English-speaking part.

RaijuBoth genders18-56 y.o.Asian

Raiju is the sidekick of Raijin. Raiju is the thunder beast, essentially the physical embodiment and source of Raijin's power. Without Raiju, Raijin would have no lightning. Raiju is a very happy-go-lucky type of character who can break the fourth wall. Raiju is very energetic and more "modern" than the other Japanese gods, and has spent time banished to earth in the past. Looking for an actor of Japanese descent to play this character as well; it is also an English-speaking part.
