Looking to cast male and female talent for the “The Trail to Oregon” show. See the details listed below. Additional info: Please come prepared with between 16 -32 bars of a contemporary musical theater song of your choice and be ready to do a short improv exercise. While Father is determined and has good intentions to get his family to Oregon, he manages to set his own farm on fire, get swindled into buying a defective wagon and ox, and nearly get himself and the family killed multiple times
Determined Homesteader, She is dedicated and committed to helping her family survive and do whatever it takes to keep things together. However, since she is stuck with a Foolish Husband she is more of quick-witted and snarky matriarch.
Bratty Teenage Daughter, Will happily mouth off about how her mother doesn't understand her and openly wishes that her family would all disappear so she can run off with the Bandit King.
If he doesn't know what an object is, he will try to eat it. This includes a dead bird, a scorpion, and a gun. Not the sharpest tool in the toolbox but makes up for it with his cheerful attitude.
A Rambling Snarky Old Man that likes to reminisce about how he fought lobsters in the War of 1812 and banished them to the sea. In private, he admits to the son that this was a lie...they actually banished him to the land and stole his wife to boot. also, double cast as Cletus Jones.
The Bandit King's partner in crime. He's genuinely in love with McDoon, however McDoon doesn't quite feel the same.
He takes what he wants when he wants it, if he can that is, even evil has standards. played for laughs. Sure, he'll kidnap Daughter to Mexico so he can marry her against her will...but he's not gonna try and sleep with her until then. also, double cast as ALL the towns people.
