"Cinderella" The Musical Needs Performers

About the project: Celebrate the holiday season with one of the most beloved stories of all time, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Be transported to a world where Fairy Godmothers are real, pumpkins can turn into carriages, and a glass slipper can lead a prince to his one true love. This musical retelling of the classic fairytale features some of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s loveliest music, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible,” and “Ten Minutes Ago”. Generations of all ages will be enchanted by this whimsical, magical tale of love and hope. Additional info: Some people may be asked to attend callbacks on Wednesday, September 25 and/or Thursday, September 26 to sing, read or dance again. Rehearsals will be held Monday-Friday anywhere from 6-10 pm. There will be some Saturday morning or afternoon rehearsals. Actors may not be called for every rehearsal or for the full length of a rehearsal until the final weeks. The first cast meeting will be Monday, September 30 @ 6 pm. Please see the attachment. Her ability to see the beauty in every situation inspires the prince, and her pure heart ultimately leads her to find true love and happiness. Dancing role. Our storyteller. This whimsical, true beacon of hope, possesses unmatched magical powers and a nurturing spirit and guides Cinderella through her darkest hours. The epitome of cruelty and cunning, masterfully manipulating those around her to maintain control and status. She treats Cinderella poorly while trying to marry off her own daughters to the prince. Non dancing; optional participation in dance audition. Vocal range C4-E5
Cinderella’s awkward stepsister is boisterous, selfish, and cruel, constantly seeking approval from her mother while enjoying the torment of her stepsister. Supremely lacking in both grace and talent, she provides an ironic contrast to the elegance and poise of Cinderella. Dancing role. Vocal range A3-E5
Cinderella’s other malicious and sullen stepsister who is just as devious and despicable as her sibling, often joining forces in their attempts to degrade and humiliate their kind-hearted stepsister. Blessed with the ability to speak Pig Latin and with a snort to match. Dancing role. Vocal range C4-E5
A charming young prince and a true romantic at heart, this dashing character initially seeks love and companionship to escape the pressures of royal life. Dancing role. Vocal range C4-F5 Please note this role requires moments of stage intimacy.
Christopher’s royal steward who is both counselor and security guard. He announces royal events and has a flair for the dramatic. Minimal dancing. Vocal range E♭4-G5
Christopher’s enthusiastic and caring mother who is eager to find him a bride and who enjoys planning the ball. Minimal dancing. Vocal range B3-E5
Christopher’s pragmatic, loving father and ruler of the kingdom, he longs for his son to marry and ensure the dynasty’s continuation though he ultimately seeks his child's happiness above all else. Minimal dancing. Vocal range B3-E5
