11 roles
A geeky everyman who wants to be the hero. The character of Wayne requires a large emotional range, from optimistic to angry at the world. Generic American accent.
The quintessential nerd. Oliver is used to being the smartest in the room and is suddenly one of the worst at school. He doesn’t handle it well. Generic American accent.
The rockstar Puff. Cedric is sunny (though somehow dim) and kind to all the Puffs. He maintains a high sense of wonder throughout the first act. In the second act, this actor plays Voldy, who is over the top evil and mysterious. RP British Accent throughout.
Ernie Mac/A Very Tall Man/Seamus/A Certain Potions Teacher/Professor Turban/Ghost History Teach/Professor Locky/Mr. Nick/Sal/Second Headmaster/Real Mr. Moody - As you can tell from the name of the character, this actor plays a LOT of different roles! Directors will be looking for an actor who can use different/distinct voices for each character. RP British and Scottish accents.
J. Finch-Fletchley/Uncle Dave/Goyle/A Fat Friar/Clumsy Longbottom/Hermeoone #3/Viktor/Zach Smith - Another part with multiple roles! Most time will be spent as J. Finch and Zach Smith. J. Finch is charming, and Zach Smith is a jerky jock. We will be looking for actors with high improv skills and the ability to voice multiple characters distinctly. RP British, Southern U.S., and general American accents.
The Puff who never wanted to be a Puff. Her mother worked for “You-Know-Who” and Megan desperately wants to be as cool as she is. Beneath her tough goth exterior is a fluffy marshmallow of emotions. Emotionally intense. Generic American accent.
Hannah/First Headmaster/Professor McG/Professor Sproutty/Xavia Jones/Professor Lanny/Runes Teach/Ms. Babble - Hannah plays most of the female adults in the show, but she spends the most stage time as Hannah and Xavia Jones. Hannah is painfully awkward, and Xavia Jones (Megan’s mother) really wants to be evil, but just can’t quite manage it. We are looking for actors who can provide distinct voices to all of these characters. RP British, High RP British, and Scottish accents.
Leanne is full of wonder at everything magical…and everything unmagical as well. She loves everyone and is inspiring as both Leanne and Helga. Directors would prefer for the actor playing this role to be somewhat athletic (e.g. can do a cartwheel and/or flips). RP British accent.
As Susie, obsessed with death and morbidly dramatic. As Harry, plucky and convinced that everyone loves him as much as the headmaster does. Looking for distinct voices for each role. RP British and French accents.
Sally Perks wears thick glasses, until she realizes the boys like her better without them. Ability to cross your eyes for a long time is a plus. As Blondo, a typical bully, and as Bippy, over-the-top drama. RP British Accent.
Storyteller and showperson. Looking for excellent RP British accent and ability to project and showboat.
