Seeking actors for new comedy-horror musical "Psycho Gyno". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: PSYCHO GYNO! is a horror-comedy musical about gynecologist Dr. Myers and her misguided attempt to help her newest patient, Miranda, who is seeking an abortion. When met with Miranda’s brute of a husband, Myers’ plan of revenge goes too far, and the consequences are deadly. Come for the romance and stay for the gore! Rate: $100.00 per gig. Additional info: TONE: The music in show is inspired by the TV show “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”, the musicals “Waitress”, “Rocky Horror”, and “Little Shop of Horrors”. TRIGGER WARNINGS: Pregnancy, Abortion, Violence, Murder, Kidnapping, Mutilation, and Threat of Sexual Assault. If necessary, callbacks will be had the weekend of August 30th. This musical has been accepted into the New York Theatre Festival and will be put up for three performances on October 15th, 18th, and 19th (with the hope to record a cast album after). Directors are casting lead, supporting, and ensemble roles. CASTING NOTE: All actors are welcome to audition for roles of any gender, however, should keep in mind their own comfort levels when submitting themselves. Please note that it is necessary that members of the boy band “Pulp Friction” double as members of the pregnant choir. In your submission, please state if there are any roles you would not be comfortable playing. That said, the show is heavily inspired by drag and queer horror. Gender functions as a performance and directors are excited to get messy and play dress-up with you.
