Seeking Talent for Two Upcoming Short Plays
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ADMITTED. Directors are currently in need of male and female performers for two upcoming plays called: "Sit" and "Inconvenient Attraction". More details are below. About the plays: "Inconvenient attraction" play: Synopsis: Inconvenient Attraction follows four roommates as they host the most legendary housewarming party this town has ever seen. Each engaged in their own relationships, sexualities, and gender dynamics, the behind-the-scenes of hosting a party gets increasingly messier throughout the night as the events and conversations unroll. Are the roommates able to express themselves truthfully and establish their boundaries before the end of the night, or will their lack of communication be the breaking point for years of friendship? "Sit" play: Synopsis: Phil and Chloe are ready to take the next step in their lives and buy their own home, somewhat to the chagrin of their longtime roommate and childhood best friend Teddy. Two weeks before moveout day, the three roommates find themselves kidnapped and tied up in their own kitchen. Their lives together flash before their eyes as they contemplate their own mortality and the things that bind them together. More importantly though, they need to figure out who did this to them. "Inconvenient Attraction" play. They/Them. Indigenous, Two-Spirited/Gender Queer. In an open relationship with their primary partner, and a founding member of the polycule. Has recently developed a possible drinking problem caused by a relationship dilemma.
"Inconvenient Attraction" play. They/Them. Their label is “no labels”, they are still figuring it out, but generally are open to anything casual. They participate in the polycule, but as a platonic friend with benefits, not a romantic partner. Is struggling after having a very thought provoking sex dream about one of the roommates.
"Inconvenient Attraction" play. She/Her. The (almost officially) therapist friend. Pansexual, also a founding member of the polycule, and is in a polyamorous relationship with their primary partner August. Kendall is loud and proud at every turn, but has strong emotional reactions when encountering negative life developments.
"Inconvenient Attraction" play. He/Him. Cam's best friend since high school. In his words “assumedly straight, probably cis, and definitely shy around people I like” but really he is an asexual, demiromantic soft boy. Has a so-called “crush” on one of the other roommates, but isn't sure how to approach the topic without making things weirder than they are.
"Sit" Play. He/Him. The Class Clown all grown up with nowhere to go. Only stopped from being a complete burnout by his own pride. He is Phil's best friend from childhood, and has a complicated and strained relationship with his parents. He's still trying to figure out who he is when he's separated from his two best friends in the whole world.
"Sit" Play. She/Her. Phil's Highschool sweetheart. Caring and understanding, but prone to being overly passionate when she picks a position on a matter. She runs out of patience for the two boys antics very quickly when put in a life or death situation.
"Sit" Play. The mysterious 4th roommate who Teddy met and befriended in Military School. Even if they're not around a lot of the time, they REALLLYYY care about Teddy, Phil and Chloe.
"Sit" Play. A stranger Bob met on Craigslist. They like horror movies, and they're really excited to be involved in a real-live kidnapping!
