"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" Musical Needs Actors
Actors for upcoming production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown". In need of cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the breakdown below. Additional info: The audition form: see the attachment. MATERIAL: WHAT TO PREPARE Please prepare 30-60 seconds of a song in the style of the show. Please bring your own track and device for playback as an accompanist will not be provided. AUDITION FORMAT During your audition time slot, you will present your prepared audition material and taught a dance combination to perform. Please plan on staying for the entire time slot you select. There will be a dance ensemble in addition to the named characters. AUDITION ATTIRE: Please come dressed to move during your audition as everyone will be asked to dance. Character shoes, jazz shoes, and flat sneakers are all appropriate options for footwear. CALLBACKS (if needed): WEDNESDAY, SEPT 11th (7 pm-9:30 pm). (If you are needed for callbacks, you will be notified by email TUESDAY, SEPT 10th to return on WEDNESDAY, SEPT 11th.) REHEARSALS: SUNDAY, MONDAY, TUESDAY and THURSDAY evenings (Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled, and is subject to change based on cast availability if needed.) READ THROUGH: MONDAY, SEPT 16th (6:30-9:30 pm) (It will be an ALL CALLED Read-Through. It is mandatory for everyone to attend and fill out paperwork.) Please bring a list of all known conflicts to auditions as this will help to determine the final schedule. A final schedule with conflicts and scene breakdown will be provided to you by the end of the first week of rehearsals. TECH WEEK: SUNDAY, DECEMBER 1st, 2024 – THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5th, 2024 NO CONFLICTS WILL BE ALLOWED DURING TECH – There are no exceptions to this. (WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4th is TBD). (VOCAL RANGE: (opt. A2) Bb2-F4 ). The central character of the musical, Charlie Brown is an everyman. Despite being seen as a loser by his peers, he is optimistic and determined. He is kind, gentle, and has a big heart.
(VOCAL RANGE: (opt. A3) B3-Ab5 (opt. Bb5)). Charlie Brown's younger sister who is sweet and innocent but can be self-centered, skeptical, and absurdly intense. She has a crush on Linus and often misinterprets his kindness.
(VOCAL RANGE: G3-F5 (opt. F#5)). A bossy, crabby, self-important girl who often bullies others, especially Charlie Brown and her brother Linus, in a misguided attempt to help. Despite her tough exterior, she has moments of compassion, vulnerability, and insight.
(VOCAL RANGE: (opt. A2) C3-A4 (opt. D5)). Charlie Brown's imaginative and lively pet beagle. Snoopy has a wild imagination, loves to daydream, and lives in his own fantasy world. Despite his quirks, he is very loyal to Charlie Brown. This can be a female, male, or non-binary actor who must fit the vocal range and can portray a dog.
(VOCAL RANGE: (opt. A2) Bb2-Ab4). A piano-playing prodigy who is obsessed with Beethoven. He is the object of Lucy’s affection, although he usually ignores her advances to focus on his music.
(VOCAL RANGE: (opt. A2) Bb2-E4 (opt. F#4)). Lucy’s younger brother, who is intelligent and philosophical despite his young age. He is almost never seen without his security blanket. He provides a lot of the show’s wisdom.
