About the project: Walter, a reclusive and timid guy living alone in his apartment finds out his girlfriend's birthday is tomorrow; wanting to get in touch again after a long time apart they set plans to call again the next day, only for disaster to strike, all his devices were fried overnight due to an electrical failure. Unable to fix his devices, Walter's forced to look outside in search of someone who would help; when he mistakenly locks himself out of his own home. Worried for Walter, his girlfriend Mei goes out looking for him finding Walter crying on the floor outside his apartment helping him back into his apartment forging a bond together even stronger than before. Walter is an unemployed, and lonely young man. His self doubt of himself often makes him anxious, impeding his progress in life. Walter finds comfort in his predictable routine. He exudes an insecure demeanor, similar to a lost puppy. Forced to go out into the outside world while being on the brink of stepping out of this protective shell, facing reality for the first time.
Mei is a shy and thoughtful girl who lives in isolation, wanting to break free from the confines of her room and experience life to its fullest. Mei sees through Walter's reserved exterior, recognizing him as the kind man he is, yet they both remain separated by the daunting challenges of the outside world. Mei desires to deeply connect with people and embrace a more lively existence.
A large shareholder of the “LUMINI” tech corporation his entitled and arrogant behavior stems from their inherently manipulative nature, he often speaks condescendingly to colleagues due to his higher status in the company becoming dismissive to anyone he deems beneath him. Lacking genuine respect and affection from others he often leads shallow and strained relationships.
A “shut-in NEET” who’s become completely absorbed in virtual reality. He’s left unaware of his surroundings, spending all of his spare time connected to his screens neglecting to do any daily responsibilities, lacking any concern for the consequences of how his lifestyle affects him or others, making them feel disconnected from the outside world.
