About the project: SYNOPSIS: In this heartwarming holiday story, Kris Kringle, fills in for an intoxicated Santa in Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day parade. This successful event gets him a role in the toy department where his actions spark waves of good will with Macy’s customers and the commercial world of New York City. However, Kris is seen as deluded and dangerous by Macy’s vocational counselor and he is put on trial to determine if he really is Santa Claus. Additional info: Looking for strong, passionate actors, and all ethnicities are encouraged to audition. The Playhouse stands firm on the fact that strong actors with strong direction can play a role, no matter what their type, look, or ethnicity. Those interested should bring a resume (not an option) with photo/headshot. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. PRODUCTION DATES: Thursday, December 5th - Sunday 8th Wednesday, December 11 - Sunday the 15th Thursday, December 19 - Sunday 22nd (13 Performances) Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows are at 7:30 pm Sunday shows are at 2:00 pm Rehearsal Dates: Monday, Wednesday, Thursdays Starting Monday, September 16th 7:00 pm start and ending at 9:00 or 9:30 pm Tech Week: REQUIRED Saturday through Wednesday November 30th - December 4th. Saturday and Wednesday Tech days are flexible based on Thanksgiving holiday conflicts and readiness for performance. Audition Preparation: All auditionees should come prepared to the auditions with a current theatrical resume and headshot (please note headshots will not be returned). Auditionees will be asked to fill out an audition form and include all conflicts from the audition date to the end of performances. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Callbacks (if necessary) Monday, August 26, 2024, (between 7:00 - 9:00 pm). Ages are flexible to the needs of the roles and available actors. Realist, diligent, and hard working single mother of Susan. She is no nonsense and doesn’t believe in fairy tales, make believe, or Santa. Runs the Macy’s personnel department.
Supervisor of the Toy Department at Macy’s. Authoritative, but nervous. Very keen to uphold the Macy name and make a buck.

Macy’s employee that dresses as the holiday mascots. He was supposed to do the parade as Santa.
Charming, clever, and jovial. Works as a defense lawyer and is neighbor and friend to the Walkers.

Macy’s store vocational/guidance counselor. A “company man/woman” through and through but heartless and prideful. Sawyer is the antagonist that wants Kris locked up.

Doctor from the Brooks home where Kris lives. Observant and determined, Dr. Pierce fiercely believes that Kris is a good man.
Owner of Macy’s Department stores. Loud, enthusiastic, and immediately fond of Kris.
