About the project: In an isolated house at the edge of a cornfield, in the mountains of Virginia, something almost beyond belief is happening to the Cleary family. When Bridget Cleary goes missing in the dead of night, her husband Michael and son Jeremy scramble to help Sheriff Richard Egan find her. Then, as suddenly as she vanished, Bridget reappears, talking about strange visitations and otherworldly beings. Is she lying, or are supernatural forces at work? DARK MATTERS is a suspenseful thriller about the secrets that hold families together, and the terrible truths we sometimes choose to ignore in the people we love. Rate: Non-union, non-paid. Additional info: Bring a printed copy of the audition sheet and conflict calendar with you to the audition. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Sides will be provided. Contemporary monologues (up to 2 minutes’ in length) are encouraged, but not required. REHEARSALS: A read-through will be scheduled within 1 week of auditions and rehearsals will begin very soon thereafter. There will generally be 2-3 weeknight rehearsals per week and 1 weekend rehearsal per week. Once we are closer to our performance dates, rehearsals will likely become more frequent. Not every actor will be called to every rehearsal. PERFORMANCES: All performances will be at the Spring Garden Mill. Dates are as follows: Week One: October 18, 19, 20 Week Two: October 24, 25, 26, 27 Week Three: October 31, November 1, 2, 3 Friday & Saturday performances begin at 8:00pm. Thursday performances begin at 7:30pm. Sunday matinee performances begin at 3:00pm. Call times for actors will be one hour prior to performance. Please apply if interested.
