Content Writer Sought for Entrepreneurial Creation

ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. The client, a market leading financial institution, has an immediate need for a Content Writer, with a focus on entrepreneurial content. Please, see the details below. Additional information: This is a contract position for seven (7) months based out of Calgary, Alberta with the ability to work remotely. Responsibilities: Sources, interviews and collaborates with subject matter experts to research, brainstorm ideas, develop messaging and complete writing briefs for given assignments. Drafts, executes, edits and proofreads a wide range of compelling, well-researched and accurate content that adheres to best practices. Publishes/posts content to the client's website. Works closely with internal and external brand partners to gather feedback, edit and refine tone/voice for all content prior to publication. Expected to execute 5-6 pieces of new content each week, that delivers against a robust and high-volume content roadmap over the next six months. Recommends relevant imagery/graphics that could accompany all written pieces of content. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or diploma in marketing, journalism, communications, English or related discipline. - 3+ years experience in content or copywriting for digital, including articles, newsletters, emails, website copy and social media - Experience in writing SEO informed copy and knowledge of SEO best practices - Experience drafting educational and course materials, and video scripts is an asset - A very high standard of writing, editing and proofreading skills (candidates may be asked to perform a relevant writing exercise to demonstrate skill set). - Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to work on multiple projects and varying deadlines simultaneously. - Ability to adjust writing technique and voice to adapt to nuances of different audiences(internal and external). - Previous experience creating content for entrepreneur or small business audience considered is preferred. - Experience in or a strong understanding of the financial/banking industry considered an asset.
