Synopsis: This is an emotional journey of self-discovery and the burden that comes with having to live a dual life. At its core, it’s a story about the family that you're born into and the family you choose. Rate: 1 day, $100, credit, craft services. Additional info: Type: Non-Union Ultra Low Budget Independent Short Drama; Shoot Location: Richmond, Virginia; Projected Shoot Timeline: September 21-22, 2024. Angsty, Hispanic teenager in the midst of discovering their (gender) identity while exploring their sexuality. They're the titular character and lead protagonist of the story. Physical Traits: Androgynous, slim to curvy build, long black hair, Hispanic and must speak at least broken Spanish. Must be a strong actor who can enthusiastically take on this complex character and material with convincing subtlety and nuance. With ability to look/play 15-17.
Luis/Luisa's stern and old fashioned father with a relatively strong "machismo" ideology. He's a hard-working Mexican immigrant who loves and deeply cares about his family even if he doesn't express it outwardly in the traditional sense. Physical Traits: Latino/Hispanic (preferably Mexican-American), must be able to speak Spanish fluently, as all dialogue is in Spanish.
Luis/Luisa's caring and compassionate mother. She’s a hard-working Mexican immigrant from modest and humble beginnings. Family is very important to her and she cares deeply for Luis/Luisa. Physical Traits: Latina/Hispanic (preferably Mexican-American), must be able to speak Spanish fluently, as all dialogue is in Spanish.
