(Female presenting, Mezzo-Soprano, Any Ethnicity) Ella’s selfish stepmother. A vain and tyrannical climber. Deeply concerned with status and image and entirely dismissive of her stepdaughter. Comic timing is essential. Traditional musical theatre character voice. "Cinderella"

(Female presenting, Mezzo-Soprano) Ella’s stepsister and daughter of Madame. Begins aligned with her materialistic mother, but her kindness and thoughtful nature emerges as her eyes are opened to the world by Ella and her love interest John-Michel. Perhaps a bit quirky and cut from a different mold than the social climbers around her. Comic timing is essential. Strong and expressive traditional musical theatre voice. "Cinderella"

(Female presenting, Soprano, Any Ethnicity) First appears as a beggar woman, but is revealed as Ella’s fairy godmother in disguise. Warm with a wacky, playful spark, she believes in the impossible. Soaring traditional musical theatre soprano to G. "Cinderella"

(Male presenting, Any Ethnicity) An enthusiastic revolutionary determined to make a difference. Energized and on his way to becoming a leader. Great comic timing. Traditional musical theatre baritone. "Cinderella"

Topher’s Lord Chancellor. He actively shields the Prince from what is occurring in his kingdom and revels in maintaining his own power. Disregarding villagers in need, he is primarily concerned with preserving the wealthy elite in the kingdom. Fantastic comic timing essential. Traditional musical theatre character voice. (Tenor) Sebastian’s second-in- command and the herald for all balls and events. Announces royal balls, banquets and even the weather. Excellent comic timing is essential. Traditional musical theatre tenor. "Cinderella"

The director of the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society and plays Inspector Carter in the murder mystery. It’s extremely important to him that this show goes well. He rarely lashes out in anger and instead lets it coil tighter and tighter inside of him. "THE ONE-ACT PLAY THAT GOES WRONG"

Male presenting. Plays the role of Cecil in the play-within-a-play. Never been onstage before. Learned his lines and does exactly what he’s told to do. Zero ‘connection’ with other characters while onstage, but when he gets a laugh he breaks the fourth wall and engages as himself. "THE ONE-ACT PLAY THAT GOES WRONG"

Plays the role of Perkins in the play-within-a-play. Utterly bewildered, confused, and terrified. While usually a few steps behind the rest of the cast, they always try their best. "THE ONE-ACT PLAY THAT GOES WRONG"

Male presenting. Plays the role of Charles Haversham (deceased) in the play-within-a-play. While pretending to be dead, he keeps jumping the gun with the ‘twist’ ending. "THE ONE-ACT PLAY THAT GOES WRONG"

(Female Presenting) Jenna is stuck in her life as an unhappily married waitress in a small town. Finds some happiness and expression through her meticulous baking of pies and her friendships with her coworkers, Dawn and Becky. Lives her life paycheck-to-paycheck, day by day, and wants nothing more than to get away and start fresh, unbeknownst to her destructive husband, Earl. Has a fantastic pop/rock voice with great range. Mezzo-soprano F#3 - F5. "WAITRESS"

(Female Presenting) Dawn is the youngest of the waitresses and the newest to the diner. Endearing and genuine. Thick glasses, hair parted 14 centimeters to the left— eccentric is the nice way to say she’s slightly unusual, and not so slightly OCD. She sets the tables, painstakingly ensuring each salt and pepper-shaker is equidistant from the napkin holder. Has an excellent pop/rock/folk voice. Mezzo-soprano G3 - Eb5. "WAITRESS"

(Female Presenting ) The oldest of the three waitresses. Becky has been at the diner the longest. Irreverent, irascible, been there - done that - and made it back. Becky has a wicked sense of humor with excellent comedic timing. Has a soulful pop voice with an excellent pop belt. Mezzo-soprano Eb3 - Eb5. "WAITRESS"

(Male Presenting) Handsome, endearing, and neurotic. Has a warm, and somewhat clumsy, manner. Jenna’s gynecologist. He has a quirky sense of humor and a big heart and, despite the fact that he’s having an affair with Jenna, he is a good person. Has impeccable comedic timing and moves well. Has a very strong pop/rock tenor that can navigate the musical style of Sara Bareilles with ease. Tenor C3 - Bb4. "WAITRESS"

(Male Presenting) A chef at the diner. A “Salt of the Earth” guy’s guy surrounded by gals. Brash, impatient, unsentimental, but somehow charming. Should have a strong pop/rock voice with great comedic chops. Has a strong contemporary baritone singing voice in the style of Sara Bareilles and has excellent comedic timing. Could possibly cover the role of Joe. B2 - G4. "WAITRESS"

Eccentric, genuine and lovable. Absolutely smitten with Dawn (in a hilarious yet endearing way) after she goes on a 5-minute date with him. Quirky, incredibly persistent, yet always kind. Has excellent comedic timing. Has an excellent pop/rock tenor/baritenor sound. Tenor C3 - Bb4. Ogie’s solo is more “character operatic” in style than high in pitch. Physical comedy skills are a plus. Jenna’s husband. Peaked in high school, handsome in a gruff way, but that face is clouded with broken dreams, drowned with cheap beer. Just enough narcissism mixed with stupidity, to be a potent Molotov cocktail that can explode into unexpected anger one second and then turn into a sobbing mess the next. Guitar playing a plus. Eb3 - G4. "WAITRESS"

(Male Presenting) The owner of the diner where Jenna, Dawn, Becky, and Cal work. A curmudgeonly man who has a soft spot for Jenna (and her pie). Gruff exterior but a warmth and kindness within. Joe is a sarcastic and no nonsense guy with a keen ability to read people. Very funny. Baritenor B2 - G#4. "WAITRESS"

Must have excellent pop/rock voices in the style of Sara Bareilles. Strong actors to play a range of characters comprising the community in which the story takes place. Must be strong movers with excellent comedic timing. Understudy principal roles. "WAITRESS"
