Actors Job for Feature Film "Floral Patterns"

(Mid 20’s). John is a guitar player who dreams of following his childhood love to Seattle during the 90’s grunge movement. He plays piano, guitar, and ukulele. He feels that he would be free to pursue his wants and needs if he didn’t feel the need to take care of his sister and mother after his father passed. Sarah was burned in a car accident as a child. Her father had to make a choice between her and her brother as the car caught fire. When he came back for her the car burned them both on half of their bodies. Sarah still wears the scars and is slowly learning about herself while attending design classes at a community college. Sarah can dance and is a very musical person. She wants for her family to stop using her scars as excuses in their own lives. Lead.

Evelyn is a loud mentally abusive woman. She loves to hear herself speak. She always tries to manipulate her children Sarah and John to do everything for her. Since her husband left she has used her children as an excuse to protect herself from the outside world. Evelyn projects her desire for a man in her life onto her daughter. She takes pride in her physical appearance and is tall compared to Sarah. Supporting.

(Mid 20’s). Amy is young and spunky in spirit. She is returning to Florida from a university in Seattle, Wa. She works at a local antique shop and her father Frank owns the Movie Theater in town that John works at. She dances when she is alone, and loves to talk on the phone. She is torn between staying in town with the people she loves or moving back to Seattle for Graduate school. Supporting.

Frank owns several small shops around town. His favorite is the Movie Theater that he personally works at every day. He loves the town that he is in and loves watching his daughter grow up. His has been encouraging John to follow Amy to Seattle for years with his blessing. He gives off the hardened workingman energy but really takes joy in the simple little things. He likes to give unsolicited advice. Supporting.

Peter is handsome with the confidence of someone who peaked in high school. He has recently started dating again after a messy divorce. The first to fall prey to his charms is John’s mother. Although Peter is often drawn to those much younger. Supporting.

Gertrude knows that she is the catch of the town. She is enjoying retirement and spending time with her husband. She is very social within the elderly community and loves acknowledging what she has in her life. She admires the 1920’s fashion and dresses in that attire. She has very little people say no to her and her eccentricity makes her interesting to all who meet her. Supporting.

Dick is a meddling yes man. He loves hanging out with his wife Gertrude. They were high school sweethearts. He just recently was able to retire and he spends as much time as he can with people and family. He is learning who his wife is again and try’s to not be bored in a life without work. For him the college classes they take together are more like day dates where they are pretending to be young again vs. the desire to learn anything. Supporting.

Autumn’s life revolves around her sister and partner in life Audry. After Audry’s husband died they have been living together. They plan their days as a unit and Audry is the reason why Autumn has held on so long. Autumn wants to die knowing that she and her sister always had a special bond. Autumn was recently diagnosed with cancer and keeps it quiet. Audry does not know. She does not want to be a burden on those around her and only wishes to help. Supporting.

Audry is a kind soul. Her legs have damage and she must now use a wheel chair. She knows what it is to have loved and lost. She has no expectation that life would give her a second chance. When she meets Sarah a new hope is born inside of her. Audry’s sister Autumn means the world to her, but at times can feel like more than a caregiver than a sister. She loves the moments when nobody is worried about her and she can be a part of the team without feeling like she is a burden. Supporting.

Dave has been in school since he was 16. He is a respectable young man with good morals. He is nervous to pursue things in life outside of his normal routine until he meets Sarah. He spends his free time outside of class on the bench they met at to see if she will come back. His parents do not approve of his choice to go to school instead of work. They say that he is throwing his life away. Every day he makes money pursuing his passion far surpassing that of his parents. Supporting.
