"Oklahoma!" Musical Looking for Dancers and Singers

Auditions for Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!" Seeking actors. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the breakdown below. Rate: Pay starts at $66 per show and increases to $78 per show based on how many productions a performer has been in at Theatre. Rehearsal fee is $650. Generally there are a minimum of 5 shows per week, with a minimum run of eight weeks of performances. This is a dinner theater and additional opportunities for compensation are available if you choose to work in the restaurant side of business in addition to performing. Additional info: AUDITIONERS SHOULD: -Prepare a musical selection in the style of the show (60 seconds). -Bring sheet music with the appropriate key and cuts. An accompanist will be provided. -Prepare a monologue (60 seconds). -Bring a current headshot and resume. Callbacks will take place on July 31 by invitation only. Those that receive a callback may be given materials to prepare. Rehearsals begin December 11th, 2024. Show run is January 23, 2025 to March 30, 2025. If you are interested, please apply.

(Female Presenting - Soprano). Laurey has an innocent yet knowledgeable air about her. She lives with her Aunt Eller on a ranch. She is in love with Curly, though she stubbornly may not admit it.

(Male Presenting - Baritone) Curly has a confident swagger and deserves it. He is in love with Laurey but is playing games instead of admitting it. He's a cowboy, and the romantic lead.

Aunt EllerBoth genders40-55 y.o.All ethnicities

(Female Presenting - Mezzo) Aunt Eller acts as the town's aunt, a fun-loving and sarcastic caretaker. She watches over the town and her ranch with Laurey, her niece, and a hired hand named Jud. She sees the good in everyone.

Will ParkerBoth genders18-35 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male Presenting - Tenor) Will is a cowboy that is skilled enough to compete in rodeos. He is interested in Ado Annie Carnes but isn't the brightest. This is a dancing role. Being able to do rope tricks is a plus.

Jud FryBoth genders18-35 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male Presenting - Baritone) Jud is described as dark and growly by others. Jud takes care of the ranch Laurey and Aunt Eller live on. He does not fit in with the society he lives with and is seen by most as an outsider. He is misunderstood and this makes him a troubled character. He has feelings for Laurey.

Ado Annie CarnesBoth genders18-35 y.o.All ethnicities

(Female Presenting - Soprano) Ado Annie is Andrew Carnes' daughter and she "can't say no" to anyone. She wants everyone to be happy. Her heart is always in the right place, but she isn't always the best judge of character. A comic, romantic lead that is wooed by Ali Hakim, but deep down she feels a connection to Will Parker.

(Male Presenting) Ali is a traveling peddler that says he is from Persia (modern day Iran), though we aren't sure how much of what he says we can believe. He is an outsider to the community, like Jud, but he is not feared by most. He likes pretty things and women. He pursues Ado Annie and Gertie Cummings.

Gertie CummingsBoth genders18-35 y.o.All ethnicities

(Female Presenting - Soprano or Alto) Gertie is from the next town over, has her eyes on Curly, and isn't waiting around for Laurey to say no to him. She has a unique laugh. Gertie is a featured ensemble role and requires strong dance skills.

Andrew CarnesBoth genders40-55 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male Presenting - Tenor) Andrew is very protective of his daughter, Ado Annie. He doesn't want Will Parker to marry her because he believes the cowboy's life to be risky and unreliable. To prove this isn't true, he asks Will to maintain $50 to have his daughter's hand in marriage. He is a rancher and doesn't feel very kind to cowboys in general.
