Casting lead/supporting roles for faith-based short film "Torn". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the roles below. About the project: SYNOPSIS: In a world shrouded in darkness and peril, where crimson reigns supreme and demons prowl, there exists a haven called the Blue Zone – the sole sanctuary shielded from the outside world. Two sisters, nurtured within the protective confines of the Blue Zone, ponder the intricacies of the forcefield that shields them from harm. To unravel the mysteries of the forcefield, one sister braves the forbidden red zone, only to find herself unable to return to the blue sanctuary. As the sisters confront the stark contrast between light and shadow, they must find a way to penetrate the barrier for entry without allowing the malevolent red influence to seep into their haven. [Lead. Sister of Leah & Daughter of Emma] - Rachael has a naturally inquisitive nature and is open-minded. She is not afraid to ask difficult questions about their mysteriously protected domain. She is never truly satisfied with the answers the Elders give, so she adventurously leaves the safety of home to get answers on her own and maybe save the world while she’s at it. The actress must be able to portray frustration, skepticism, hope, and fear.
[Lead] - Born and raised in the Red World, but believes the rumors that a Blue Zone exists. He is a strong person and remains steadfast in his faith. Somehow, he continuously inspires hope within other characters. Physical activity required.
[Mother of Rachael and Leah] - Though she is caring, she is ultimately a no-nonsense kind of woman. She wants what's best for her home and family and is therefore at odds with Rachael’s quest to find answers and expand their safe haven. Although hard on her daughter, she does show concern once Rachael leaves.
Emanuel’s partner. Is doubtful that the Blue Zone exists, but she trusts Emanuel. May even be in love with him. Doesn’t understand a lot of what he talks about, but she follows him regardless until she can’t anymore. Physical Activity required.
One of the Elders of the Blue Zone. He is old and wise.. Knowledgeable about the Blue Zone but sworn to a secrecy that Rachael continues to test. Part of him admires that about the girl, and he tells her of a legend that might help her survive the Red World once he realizes there is nothing that will stop her from venturing out.
