About the project: ‘Partial Veil’ is a mystery suspense horror… love story…ish? Let’s call it a mix of Twin Peaks, Fargo and Lucifer. I mean, come on, that sounds pretty flipping cool, right? So right. The story takes place in a small town in North Dakota, close to the borders of Minnesota and Canada. There are creepy woods, eccentric townsfolk, FBI agents, and tea. Lots of tea. I know, I know, I can hear you now - “But, Allison, what if I don’t like tea?” It’s ok, you can still audition. It’s 1998, a man is missing, and a town is slowly descending into madness. A body is found in the woods… and also an arm. But who’s the arm? Why is Josie Ward so afraid of the woods? And why does the announcer keep letting us know how far away the moon is? Is that strawberry jam or blood? What is this ball of string for? Was that Welsh or Hungarian? What’s in Partial Veil Forest and for the love of god why do those Halloween decorations look so real? Partial Veil delves deep into the human psyche, from the carefully cultivated parts of ourselves we show the world to the thoughts and urges we keep hidden away. What happens when those secrets are no longer shrouded in darkness? What emerges when we can no longer suppress our true animalistic natures? Who remains when our carefully crafted mask falls away and our pain and shame are laid bare for all to see? It’s also kind of funny at times. Plus there’s a rad scene where the protagonist is tripping balls on psychedelics, so it’s not all gloom and doom. This project is expected to be 11 episodes long, about 30-40 minutes per episode. The major supporting characters are in most of the episodes, most other supporting characters are only in one episode. Rate: $20-400, depending on the role.
