Theater Casting Call for "Much Ado About Nothing!" Show
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Directors are currently in search of perfomers for "Much Ado About Nothing!" show. Please, see the details below. About the show: This play centres on two young couples: Claudio and Hero, and Beatrice and Benedick. Beatrice, Hero's cousin, is embroiled in a "merry war" with Benedick, a soldier, and the two are equally-matched when it comes to their wit and their distaste for one another. Just beneath the surface of their banter, though, is an affection that is brought to light by a trick played by their friends. Claudio and Hero's story is dramatic, with the ill-intentioned Don John sabotaging Hero and Claudio's relationship by convincing Claudio that Hero has been unfaithful. Additional information: Callbacks will take place from 2:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, May 23rd. Dance experience is not essential, but please be aware there will be some movement involved. First-round auditions will be entirely self-taped. Please submit a one-minute classical or Shakespearean monologue (not from Much Ado About Nothing). Monologue choice may impact casting decisions–they encourage you to select a monologue reflective of the character(s) for which you are interested in being considered. This performance will take place outdoors over the second weekend in July, with more specific dates/times TBD. The production will re-set the action in the 2000s and take inspiration from Shakespearean teen comedies of the time. If you're interested, please apply.
