About the project: Blurb: A strange fruit tree growing in the middle of an AirBnB compels a gathered bachelor party to ditch bro-speak and communicate as though they've gone to therapy in this satire of yuppie male fragility. Summary: Til Death Do Us Party takes place over the course of a weekend bachelor party at an AirBnB in Rhode Island. A strange tree bearing all manner of fruits grows in the middle of the living room. One by one, the partiers eat the fruit, which has the power to transform their surface-level bro-speak to sincere, intentional conversation, leading to revelations of marital strife, an unplanned pregnancy, existential fears of getting older, and yuppie male insecurities. Rate: Actors will receive a gauranteed stipend of $50-$100 for the three-show run as well as additional compensation dependent upon ticket sales. Additional info: While the listed roles use binary genders and pronouns, please feel free to apply to whichever role you identify with, regardless of gender identity. The play will premiere at the 2024 New York Theater Festival (June 2024). Rehearsals will take place weeknight evenings and weekends (based on actor availability) beginning in May 2024. (Lead) -- Engaged to Jacqueline but realizing he has cold feet about marrying a woman he's only been dating for five months. The least judgmental member of the bachelor party. Almost a genuinely good guy.
(Lead) -- Baxter's best man. The only member of the bachelor party that didn't go to St. Bede's, a private boarding school in Rhode Island. Roomed with Baxter at Brown. Highly mannered and refined. In love with Madison but too wary of being canceled to pursue a coworker. A virgin.
(Lead) -- The Rosencrantz to Charlie's Guildenstern. A witty, sarcastic podiatrist. Married with kids and regrets. Kind of a dick, tbh.
(Lead) -- The Guildenstern to Warren's Rosencrantz. Witty and sarcastic but more befuddled than Warren. Hasn't told his wife that he got fired from his job at a white-shoe law firm. Instead of finding a new job, he's just been hanging out at Equinox all day.
(Lead) -- Trust fund kid descended from the Rockefellers. Professional polo player and an absolute fuckboy. Thinks he should be Baxter's best man. Both the life and the death of the party.
(Lead) -- Engaged to Baxter. A Brooklyn yuppie and wedding planner. Bitingly funny. A little high maintenance and judgey, but a good hang.
(Lead) -- Jacqueline's maid of honor. Quick-witted and chill. Accidentally got pregnant a month ago at a wedding in Las Vegas, and the mystery father is attending the bachelor party. Works with Baxter and Marcus at an elite Wall Street hedge fund.
(Supporting) -- Started stripping to piss off her parents. A descendant of the Vanderbilt dynasty. (No nudity)
(Supporting) -- Jasmine's large, imposing bodyguard. Tattoo of a cheeseburger on his face.
(Supporting) -- The onstage playwright. No lines but lots of grunting and physical comedy. Actor will be wearing a gorilla costume.
