Audition for the upcoming 2024-2025 season, searching males and females. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: 1. "Disney’s Beauty And The Beast Jr." Synopsis: Based on the original Broadway production that ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. Rehearsals: September 7- October 5, 2024. Rehearsals typically take place Mondays-Thursdays, 6:30- 9:30 PM and Saturdays, 10 AM-4:00 PM.; Tech in the Taft Theatre: October 8 – 11, 2024 Daytime/Evening; Performances: October 12-October 21, 2024. 2. "Santa Claus: The Musical" Synopsis: It’s Christmas Eve! After 1,000 years of faithful service, Santa and Mrs. Claus announce their decision to hang up the big red suit and train a replacement. Enter Nick: a website designer and single dad to tech-savvy daughter, Bee. With pressures mounting–and a jealous, naughty elf thwarting their every move–will everyone in Santa’s Workshop come together in time for Nick to take the reins? Rehearsals: November 2 – December 1, 2024. Rehearsals typically take place Mondays-Thursdays, 6:30- 9:30 PM and Saturdays, 10 AM-4:00 PM. *There will be a break for Thanksgiving. *Potential additional rehearsal day of December 1st, TIME TBD. Tech in the Taft Theatre: December 3– 6, 2024 Daytime/Evening; Performances: October December 7– 16, 2024. Rate: All roles are paid positions. Additional info: Please prepare the piano sheet music to a memorized song that shows your acting and vocal range. (1-minute max). The song must be age-appropriate. Remember to have your PIANO SHEET MUSIC, as directors will not be auditioning for a cappella skills. An accompanist will be provided. Your sheet music MUST have the piano part, not just the vocal line, and music should be in a 3-ring binder with any cuts CLEARLY marked for the accompanist. You only need a song. You do NOT need to prepare a monologue if you are auditioning for Beauty and the Beast or Santa Claus: The Musical. Bring a RECENT 8×10 headshot and up-to-date performance resume. Even if you upload to the audition website, a hard copy of your headshot and resume is needed. Plan to arrive at least 10-15 minutes ahead of your appointment to check/correct previously submitted paperwork. If directors are ahead of schedule, they may bring you in to audition early.
