Actors Audition For Indie Short Film

A community college student who picked up shifts at her local corner store to get a discount on alcohol and make a little extra cash. The ingrown roots of her blonde hair and smeared eyeliner reflect a high-class lifestyle she used to live, hinting at the detachment and disappointment in her life now. Most underage drinkers come in to buy alcohol during her shift because she will sell to anyone, with or without ID.

A slightly overweight mall cop who took this job to get more exercise in the form of walking around the mall all day. The stubble of a beard and lack of self-care towards his appearance indicate no romantic relationship in his life. He often goes out back by the dumpsters during his shift to light up a blunt for fifteen minutes before going back inside the mall and getting a pretzel from Auntie Anne's for his dieted lunch.

A Vietnam veteran who took up going to church on his return from the war. He has been a member of the same church for over 40 years: he got married and both of his children were christened in it. He has begun suffering from early-onset dementia and finds himself in spells where he forgets what he's saying, how to read, where he is, etc.

A woman who wakes up two hours before church to do her makeup and get ready every Sunday. She often is invited to read sermons at her church because she runs a fairly popular religious podcast where she discusses how Jesus would have solved modern-day issues such as catfishing, gaslighting, and karaoke.

A priest who holds a hardening exterior, but looks as if he could serve as a good ear and companion through hardship. His eyes and wrinkles around his face give the impression that he smiles often, and his robe is perfectly pressed, reflecting the care he takes for his job.

A woman who embodies motherhood. She is neither warm nor cold, not strict nor lenient. She naturally holds a slightly intimidating stature, but the ironed shirts of her children, the care of her appearance, and the snacks in her purse reflect the care and love she feels as a mother.

A freelance manual laborer who works odd hours of the day and devel- oped a strong love for cheap beer from his father. Although he has lived on his own with his son for five years since his wife died, he never got over being taken care of and relies on his son to replace the duties he held to his wife. The stubble around his face and a child-like twinkle in his eyes reflect how he never grew up over the age of fifteen. He uses comedy and play to shelter his inner emotions.
