Actors Audition For Upcoming TV Pilot

With girl-next-door looks. She’s smart, strong & resourceful with people. As in, she’s ‘got people’ for most situations she’s faced with. Her demon is alcohol. Her addiction issue has slowed down her life pursuits and closed some doors. A struggling journalist with a degree in mass communications, Jewel has landed and lost four good jobs in TV & radio news, all before the age of 30. Her nemesis are all still working in the industries, some have moved up high in the ranks too.

Big ego with a quick-witted mouth to go with it. He doesn’t take shit, talks a lot of shit and has a love-hate relationship with his podcast audience. Also an independent pro wrestler. He combines his interview and microphone skills between the two ventures. Smokes, drinks, loves to eat and isn’t afraid to express any of it.

Manager of the record store and main host of The Hub Show. Stuck in the middle between two overbearing personalities - Chazz and his boss Ray - Gus usuallyl winds up getting walked all over no matter how much he stands his ground.

Entrepreneur and business owner. Owns the record shop being promoted via The Hub Show podcast. Also owns several buildings including the restaurant & bar where Jeff bartends. Always looking for ways to make money, he’s impatient with people and quick to call them out. He relies on Gus to manage the record store and to run The Hub Show better. Doesn’t like Chazz, he’s ‘bad for business’.

Hardcore Gen-Xer. Full name is Scott Townsend. Makes money as a Ryde driver. Talks too much and likes to dole out life lessons to Jewel. A casual DJ & collector of vinyl records, he hangs out at the record shop a lot. His big claim to fame is he was at Woodstock. Not the legendary one in 1969, but the infamous one in 1999.

Married. Jewel’s best friend since childhood. Goth-punk is her style, wears lots of black. She works in Ray’s record shop and serves as a voice of reason between everyone. She is highly protective of Jewel and can’t stand Chazz.

Bartender at The Black Box Bar owned by Ray. As a bartender, he ‘hears everything’ said in the place. Has a soft spot for Jewel and her affliction with alcohol, does his best not to contribute to it.

An older gentleman, keeps to himself. He’s the tech guy in The Hub Show podcast studio, hired by Ray. He angers quick, but keeps it well-under control. His background will be slowly revealed - either a retired Secret Service or CIA agent.

She’s the HR lady at Jewel’s fourth job in journalism. She has the task of firing Jewel after being drastically late to work several times inside of two weeks. She knows something is up with Jewel, has a little bit of sympathy while wishing her luck. Her role in future episodes to be determined.

White guy with a lot of tattoos. Heavily into weed. Son of Hub City councilmember Don Smith, Jr. does his best to distinguish himself from his father. Don Sr. - as well as other prominent city officers - refuses to come on The Hub Show, looking at it as guerilla journalism well-beneath conventional radio and TV.

Jewel’s roommate, she’s a full-time nurse who works the night shift. Initially to be heard through the walls, not seen.
