Actors and Extras Wanted for "Pamyatayesh (Remember)" Film

About the project: "Pamyatayesh (Remember)" is a multimedia performance piece that combines folk music, Ukrainian art song, film, and theater. Inspired by the story of a Ukrainian-Canadian woman and her experience with dementia, the project will explore what it means to remember and pass on a cultural identity that has been torn from its physical place. JANE prepares a speech for a family reunion celebrating the centennial of immigration from Ukraine to Canada. As she recounts her childhood, she periodically slips into the past, battling with dementia to remain in the present and do what she must to share her story with the younger generations of her family. JANE ultimately succeeds in delivering both the speech and other pieces of cultural knowledge to her granddaughter, who is a willing recipient in the live portion of this multi-media work.
